What the score measures. Five things we can verify from published material: whether pricing is transparent, whether the product can act on your systems or only answer from documents, whether the vendor still owns its own roadmap, how much independent review evidence exists, and whether the bill stays predictable as volume grows. Weighted, then scored against an ideal platform that scores 5.
BEST FOR: SMALL E-COMMERCE TEAMS WANTING CHAT AND HELPDESK IN ONE CHEAP TOOL · LAST UPDATED 2026-08-11

Re:amaze in depth
Re:amaze is a competent, unglamorous multi-channel help desk for small e-commerce businesses. Email, chat, social and SMS in one inbox, order data from your store, a knowledge base, and per-seat pricing you can read off a page.
Ownership is worth knowing. GoDaddy announced the acquisition on 6 April 2021, and Re:amaze has been maintained steadily rather than developed aggressively since. It works, it is supported, and it is not where the category's innovation is happening.
What it does
- Shared inbox across email, chat, social and SMS
- AI Agent answering from help centre, templates and store data
- Shopify, BigCommerce and WooCommerce integrations
- Pre-built chatbots including an order-status bot
- Knowledge base and FAQ hosting
- Per-seat pricing with a published per-resolution AI rate
More detail on how it works
It is no longer fair to call it AI-free, though. Re:amaze now bills itself as an AI agent platform, ships an AI Agent on every plan and publishes a rate for it. The honest description is that the agent answers questions rather than resolving them by doing anything, which for a store whose queue is mostly 'where is my order' may be most of the job.
Multi-channel inbox
Solid, and the reason people choose it. Email, chat, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and SMS in one place at a low per-seat price.
E-commerce integrations
Order data from Shopify, BigCommerce and WooCommerce inside the ticket, and available to the AI Agent and Order Bot. Present and useful, though shallower than Gorgias — expect visibility rather than the ability to act.
AI, realistically
The AI Agent is real, included on every plan and priced at $0.85 a resolution past a small bundled allowance. What it will not do is execute: no published capability to cancel an order, edit one or issue a refund. Compare that with Gorgias, where acting is the point and the rate is $1.50.
Setting Re:amaze up
Realistic time to a working deployment: Days to weeks. These are the standard steps for this category. We have not published a walkthrough specific to this tool yet.
- 01
Create the workspace and add seats
Seat count is what you are billed on, so confirm who genuinely needs a full agent licence versus a viewer.
- 02
Connect your channels
Email forwarding or domain records, chat widget, social accounts. DNS changes may take hours to propagate.
- 03
Import history and macros
The long part. Expect the importer to bring tickets across cleanly and your automations not at all.
- 04
Rebuild routing and SLAs
Rules rarely port between platforms. Budget time to rewrite them rather than translate them.
- 05
Turn on the AI features
Check whether AI is included in your tier or a separate line item — in this category it is frequently the latter.
- 06
Run both systems in parallel
A week of overlap costs one month of double licence fees and saves you from discovering gaps with live customers.
The step that takes longer than they imply. Migration. Moving ticket history, macros and routing rules from an existing help desk is the bulk of the work and no vendor's importer handles all of it.
What the AI actually does
Every platform here says “AI agent”. It covers a bot that reads your help centre and a system that can refund a customer. This is which one you are buying.
Re:amaze's AI Agent answers; it does not act.
It reads your help centre, your saved replies and your store's product and order data, and nothing Re:amaze publishes describes it changing an order, cancelling one or issuing a refund.
What is unusual is that it publishes a per-resolution rate at all, and that the included allowance is the smallest in this directory.
- Answers across chat, email and SMS from FAQ articles, response templates and a custom context field, and you choose which of those sources it may use
- Reads product and order information from Shopify or WooCommerce, so it can tell a customer where an order is. It reads that data; it does not write to it
- Three prebuilt bots ship — Hello Bot, FAQ Bot and Order Bot — and Order Bot is the same shape as the agent: it replies with information from the customer's most recent order, and only appears at all if a Shopify, BigCommerce or WooCommerce store is connected
- Resolutions are metered per seat: 5 a month included on Basic, 10 on Pro, 20 on Plus, then $0.85 each
- Five resolutions per user per month is roughly one working day of a single quiet queue, so on any real volume the $0.85 rate is the price rather than the overage
Who Should Use It
The second list is the more useful one.
Small stores wanting cheap multi-channel
If the requirement is one inbox for email, chat and social at a low price, this does it without fuss.
Teams that value stability over roadmap
GoDaddy ownership means slow change. For some buyers that is a feature.
Businesses with several agents and steady volume
Per-seat pricing beats per-ticket once volume is high and the team is stable.
Who should look elsewhere. Anyone who needs the AI to do something rather than say something. Re:amaze's agent answers from your content and your order data and stops there, so refunds, cancellations and exchanges stay with your team however routine they are. The gap against Gorgias or Fin on execution is large and is not closing.
Strengths and Weaknesses
What Works
- Cheap multi-channel: email, chat, social and SMS from $29 per team member
- A published per-resolution AI rate, which most of this category will not give you
- Order status answered from live store data on Shopify, BigCommerce and WooCommerce
- Stable and supported under GoDaddy rather than pivoting every year
- A flat $59 Starter plan with unlimited team members for very small stores
What Does Not
- The AI answers only: no documented ability to change, cancel or refund an order
- Included resolutions are tiny: 5, 10 or 20 per user per month depending on tier
- Annual billing saves only 10%, against a category median of about 20%
- Shallower store integration than Gorgias
- Development is steady rather than fast; the category has moved quicker

Re:amaze publishes four plans. Basic is $29 per team member per month, Pro $49 and Plus $69, each discounted 10% on annual billing to $26.10, $44.10 and $62.10. A flat Starter plan is $59 a month for unlimited team members, capped at 500 responded conversations.
The AI Agent is included on all of them and metered separately: 5 resolutions per user per month on Basic, 10 on Pro, 20 on Plus, then $0.85 for each additional one. That allowance is the smallest of any bundled AI in this directory, so model the $0.85 as your real rate rather than treating the included block as meaningful.
The full arithmetic
Against Gorgias, the models differ in two ways rather than one: Gorgias charges for tickets where Re:amaze charges for agents, and Gorgias's AI acts where Re:amaze's answers. A three-agent store on Pro handling 300 AI resolutions a month pays $147 in seats and $229.50 in AI, because 30 of those resolutions are included and the other 270 are not. The AI is the larger line, which is easy to miss when the seat price is the number you compared.

Our Recommendation
Who we would tell to buy this, and who we would not.
Re:amaze is a reasonable purchase for a small store that wants a cheap multi-channel inbox and an AI that answers the where-is-my-order questions. It works, it is stable, the pricing on both the seats and the AI is published, and GoDaddy is not going to shut it down. Know what you are buying on the AI, though: it answers from your help centre and your store data and it does not execute, so every refund and cancellation still lands on a human. If the queue you want to remove is transactional rather than informational, Gorgias is the product built for that and its $1.50 rate is the price of the difference.

Frequently Asked
The questions people actually search for about Re:amaze.
Who owns Re:amaze?
GoDaddy, which announced the acquisition on 6 April 2021. It has been maintained steadily rather than aggressively developed since.
How much does Re:amaze cost?
Basic $29, Pro $49 and Plus $69 per team member per month, 10% less annually, or a flat $59 Starter plan for unlimited members capped at 500 responded conversations.
Does Re:amaze have AI?
Yes. An AI Agent is included on every plan, answering from your FAQ articles, response templates and store data, with 5 to 20 resolutions included per user per month and $0.85 for each one after.
Can Re:amaze's AI issue a refund or cancel an order?
Nothing Re:amaze publishes says it can. It reads product and order information and answers; the execution stays with your team. Gorgias and Fin are the comparison if acting matters.
Is Re:amaze better than Gorgias?
Cheaper for teams with several agents and high volume, because it bills per seat rather than per ticket. Gorgias is ahead on Shopify depth and its AI acts where Re:amaze's answers.
Does Re:amaze work with Shopify?
Yes, with order data visible in the ticket and available to the AI Agent and Order Bot. Visibility rather than the ability to execute refunds and cancellations.
What are the main Re:amaze alternatives?
Gorgias for Shopify depth and AI that acts, Richpanel for a self-service portal, Zoho Desk at $7 for a cheaper general platform, Freshdesk for stronger automation.
