What the score measures. Five things we can verify from published material: whether pricing is transparent, whether the product can act on your systems or only answer from documents, whether the vendor still owns its own roadmap, how much independent review evidence exists, and whether the bill stays predictable as volume grows. Weighted, then scored against an ideal platform that scores 5.
BEST FOR: EUROPEAN CONTACT CENTRES PRIORITISING CALL QUALITY · LAST UPDATED 2026-07-30
Parloa in depth
Parloa builds voice agents for contact centres — phone-first rather than chat with a phone option bolted on — and sells primarily into European enterprises, where its Berlin base is part of the product rather than a detail about it.
That focus is not incidental. For a European enterprise, data residency and GDPR posture are not features on a comparison table — they are qualification criteria, and a vendor whose infrastructure and legal entity are in Europe clears a bar that US-based competitors have to argue their way past.
What it does
- Voice and chat agent management
- European data residency and GDPR posture
- Multilingual with strong European language coverage
- Contact centre platform integrations
- Conversation design tooling
- Analytics on containment and quality
More detail on how it works
It competes directly with PolyAI and the voice layers of the big CCaaS platforms, with call quality and European compliance as its differentiators.
European data residency
The reason Parloa wins deals it wins. A German or French enterprise evaluating voice AI has a compliance conversation before a capability conversation, and Parloa starts that conversation from a better position.
European language coverage
German, French, Italian, Spanish and Dutch handled well rather than as an afterthought — a real difference from vendors whose language quality drops sharply outside English.
Voice and chat management
Both channels from one platform, which reduces the divergence you get from running separate vendors for each.
Setting Parloa up
Realistic time to a working deployment: Weeks. These are the standard steps for this category. We have not published a walkthrough specific to this tool yet.
- 01
Scope the calls you are automating
One or two intents, not the whole queue. Voice failure is far more visible to customers than chat failure.
- 02
Provision numbers and routing
Port a number or forward from your existing system. Carrier work, and the step with actual lead times.
- 03
Build the conversation flows
Voice needs tighter scripting than chat because there is no scroll-back and no visible menu.
- 04
Connect backend systems
Order, account or appointment lookups. Same engineering work as chat, less tolerance for latency.
- 05
Tune interruption and silence handling
Barge-in, timeouts and turn-taking. Gets the least attention in evaluation and drives the most customer frustration.
- 06
Test on real accents and real noise
Not the demo audio. Your actual callers, on phones, in cars.
- 07
Keep a fast route to a human
A voice agent with no obvious escape is the fastest way to lose a customer.
The step that takes longer than they imply. Telephony. Numbers, carrier routing and IVR replacement are infrastructure changes with real lead times, not a settings page.
What the AI actually does
Every platform here says “AI agent”. It covers a bot that reads your help centre and a system that can refund a customer. This is which one you are buying.
How Parloa sells it: "loyalty shouldn't wait on hold".
It sells the full agent lifecycle — design, test, scale, optimise, secure — to European contact centres, and the regulated verticals it names are the reason that framing exists.
- Handles regulated transactions on the phone: ID checks, card issues, claims, prescription refills, password resets, returns and billing
- Real-time translation inside the conversation rather than separate language builds — TUI reports 97% translation accuracy
- Sold as a lifecycle rather than a bot: design, test, scale, optimise and secure are separate stages of the product
- European base is a qualification criterion rather than a detail — for a European enterprise, data residency and GDPR posture decide the shortlist before features do
- Named outcomes: BarmeniaGothaer reports a 90% workload reduction at the switchboard and a 179% NPS increase; ATU reports 60% less staff time on the phone
Who Should Use It
The second list is the more useful one.
European contact centres
Data residency, GDPR posture and European language quality. This is the case Parloa is built for.
Enterprises with heavy voice volume
The economics need scale, as with all voice AI.
Teams wanting voice and chat from one vendor
Reduces the divergence in behaviour you get from running two suppliers.
Who should look elsewhere. Small businesses and US-only operations. The compliance advantage is worth nothing outside Europe, and at that point PolyAI and the incumbent CCaaS platforms compete on equal footing. Also not for teams needing published pricing or fast deployment.
Strengths and Weaknesses
What Works
- European data residency and GDPR posture as a real qualification advantage
- Strong European language coverage
- Well funded, with real enterprise deployments
- Voice and chat from one platform
What Does Not
- No published pricing
- Enterprise-only economics
- Weeks of telephony deployment
- The differentiator is regulatory rather than technical, so it is less compelling outside Europe
Parloa pricing
Parloa does not publish pricing. Expect enterprise quotes based on volume and channels.
The comparison set is PolyAI, Replicant, and the voice AI inside NICE and Genesys. For European buyers the residency question often narrows that list before price enters the conversation.
The full arithmetic
Ask about failed-containment billing and about peak handling, since seasonal call volume is where voice budgets get exceeded.
Custom and private pricing
Parloa does not publish a rate. You have to ask, which means a sales conversation before you can compare it against anything else on this site.
Request a demo ↗Ask two things on that call: what triggers a billable event, and what the rate is at twice your current volume.
INTEGRATIONS
Our Recommendation
Who we would tell to buy this, and who we would not.
Parloa is a well-funded voice AI company whose real advantage is regulatory rather than technical: for a European enterprise, data residency and GDPR posture decide the shortlist before capability does, and Parloa starts from the right side of that line. The European language coverage is genuinely strong. Outside Europe that advantage evaporates and it competes head-on with PolyAI and the CCaaS incumbents without an obvious edge. As with all voice AI, the deployment is weeks of telephony work and the economics need real call volume.
Where we write about Parloa
3 pieces on this site name it.
- Every voice platform here can change something in your systems. Two of them will tell you what that costs.Voice is the only category in this directory where every platform can act on a system of record, and it is near the bottom on whether anyone will quote you. Here is what the two that publish actually charge, the meters that sit underneath a per-minute rate, and why a quoted price per minute is not comparable across vendors.
- Every paid ElevenLabs tier costs exactly the same per minute. The interesting part is what the tier table leaves out.Divide any paid ElevenAgents tier by its included minutes and you get $0.0800. Starter, Creator, Pro, Scale, Business — identical. The tiers are volume commitments rather than volume discounts. Here is the arithmetic, the two meters the pricing page does not show, and the one clause that goes in your favour.
