Tidio Lyro Review (2026)
The cheapest credible autonomous agent in this directory, with the highest G2 rating of any tool here, and a pricing curve that jumps from $49 to a tier starting at $300 plus usage, with nothing in between.

What the score measures. Five things we can verify from published material: whether pricing is transparent, whether the product can act on your systems or only answer from documents, whether the vendor still owns its own roadmap, how much independent review evidence exists, and whether the bill stays predictable as volume grows. Weighted, then scored against an ideal platform that scores 5.
BEST FOR: SMALL AND MID-SIZE BUSINESSES THAT NEED AN AGENT LIVE WITHIN A DAY · LAST UPDATED 2026-07-28
Tidio Lyro in depth
Tidio is the entry point to this category. It began as a live chat and chatbot platform for small and mid-sized businesses and added Lyro, an autonomous AI agent that Tidio states resolves up to 67% of common customer questions without human intervention using help centre content and training data. G2 lists more than 1,750 reviews at 4.7 stars — the highest average of any tool in this directory, and on a review base large enough to take seriously, unlike several enterprise products here with a couple of hundred.
The product's defining characteristic is accessibility. There is a real free plan covering 50 conversations a month, the builder is drag-and-drop, and reviewers consistently describe onboarding as quick. For a small team that wants to find out whether an AI agent helps at all before committing money, Tidio is the lowest-risk way to answer that question.
What it does
- Lyro AI agent for autonomous resolution
- AI-driven email resolution alongside chat
- Visual drag-and-drop automation builder
- Product recommendations using Shopify data
- Multichannel inbox with ticket tracking
- Live chat with customisable widget
- Desktop and mobile applications
More detail on how it works
Where it becomes complicated is scaling. Tidio meters two things separately — visitor conversations and Lyro AI conversations, and the tier structure has a gap that will catch people. Growth at $49.17 covers 2,000 visitor conversations. The next tier, Plus, starts at $300 a month plus usage charges. There is nothing between them, so a business that outgrows Growth faces a step of at least six times rather than a gradual one, and the usage element means the real figure is not knowable from the page. An April third-party roundup put Plus at a flat $749; Tidio's own page now shows a starting price plus usage, so we publish that instead.
Lyro AI agent
Lyro handles common questions autonomously from your help content, with Tidio citing up to 67% resolution. That figure sits in the middle of the claims in this category — below Ada's 83% and MavenAGI's 93%, above Intercom's reported 30 to 50%. As with all of them, the measurement event is unpublished, so the comparison is between marketing figures rather than between measured performance.
AI email resolution
Lyro scans and resolves common email enquiries as well as chat, which is a genuine addition rather than a checkbox — many cheap tools are chat-only, and email is where the harder tickets arrive.
Shopify product recommendations
Tidio uses Shopify data to recommend products during conversations, turning support contact into a sales opportunity. It is shallower than Gorgias's order actions but present at a fraction of the cost, and for a small store that trade is often correct.
Visual automation builder
Drag-and-drop workflow and trigger design with no coding. Reviewers cite this and the customisable widget as reasons the product suits teams without technical staff.
Setting Tidio Lyro up
Realistic time to a working deployment: An hour. Read from the vendor's own documentation.
- 01
Sign up and install the widget
A script tag or a Shopify, WooCommerce or WordPress plugin. Minutes.
- 02
Feed Lyro your content
Website crawl, FAQ upload, or question-and-answer pairs you write. Q&A pairs give the most predictable answers.
- 03
Set the handoff rules
When Lyro passes to a human and what happens outside working hours.
- 04
Test the 50 free conversations deliberately
It is a small allowance, so spend it on your real top questions rather than on demos.
- 05
Model the tier cliff before upgrading
Growth to the next tier is a large step, and the Lyro conversation allowance is capped separately. Do this arithmetic before your volume forces the decision.
The step that takes longer than they imply. Watching the conversation allowance. The free tier stops at 50 and the tier jump above Growth is steep.
What the AI actually does
Every platform here says “AI agent”. It covers a bot that reads your help centre and a system that can refund a customer. This is which one you are buying.
Lyro answers from your content and is metered separately from the rest of Tidio, which is the single most misunderstood thing about the product.
- Answers from your help centre and product content — it does not act on orders
- Metered on its own tier ladder, from $32.50 a month for 50 conversations, independent of your plan's conversation allowance
- The 50 free Lyro conversations are a one-time allowance, not monthly
- Handoff rules are configured separately for online and offline hours, and the offline path is the one teams forget to test
Who Should Use It
The second list is the more useful one.
Small businesses testing AI support
The free plan and $24.17 Starter tier make this the cheapest honest way to find out whether an AI agent helps your team at all.
Small Shopify stores
Product recommendations and order context at a fraction of Gorgias's cost. Shallower, but appropriately so for low volume.
Teams with no technical staff
Drag-and-drop building and a customisable widget mean nobody needs to write code or read documentation.
Who should look elsewhere. Tidio is the wrong choice for larger teams, and reviewers say so directly — it does not scale well for complex support workflows or bigger organisations. It is also the wrong choice if you will land on the Plus tier, because from $300 a month plus usage you are paying platform prices for an SMB product; compare Freshdesk and Gorgias at that budget instead. Reviewers additionally note limited out-of-the-box integrations, so check yours before committing.

Performance guarantee
“Guaranteed 50% Lyro AI resolution rate”
If it is missed: nothing is stated on the pricing page. Who can claim it: Premium plan only, which is quoted rather than priced and carries a 3,000-conversation monthly minimum
Tidio has five tiers. Free covers 50 conversations a month. Starter is $24.17 monthly for 100 visitor conversations plus a one-time allowance of 50 Lyro AI conversations. Growth is $49.17 for 2,000 visitor conversations with advanced analytics and starter AI features. Plus starts at $300 a month plus usage and adds multisite support, multilingual chat, API access and a dedicated success manager. Premium is quoted rather than priced, starts at 3,000 Lyro conversations a month, offers pay-per-resolution billing, and is the only tier carrying Tidio's guaranteed 50% Lyro resolution rate.
Two details in that structure matter more than the headline prices. First, visitor conversations and Lyro AI conversations are metered separately, so the tier that covers your traffic may not cover your AI usage. Second, Starter's 50 Lyro conversations are a one-time allowance rather than monthly, which means the $24.17 tier is not a way to run an AI agent continuously.
The full arithmetic
The gap between Growth at $49.17 and a Plus tier starting at $300 plus usage is the thing to plan around. That is at least a six-fold step with no intermediate plan, and the usage element means you cannot size it from the page. A business growing out of Growth has no gradual upgrade path, and once Plus is in play Tidio is no longer competing with cheap tools: it is competing with Freshdesk at $55 per agent and Gorgias Pro, both of which do considerably more.
The honest read is that Tidio is excellent value at the bottom and poor value in the middle. Below Growth it is the best cheap option in this directory. At Plus it is difficult to justify against platforms in the same price band.
INTEGRATIONS
Our Recommendation
Who we would tell to buy this, and who we would not.
Tidio is the best cheap answer in this directory and the clearest way for a small business to test whether AI support helps before spending real money. A genuine free tier, 4.7 stars from over 1,750 reviews, email as well as chat resolution, and deployment measured in hours. The reservation is entirely about growth: the leap from $49 to a tier starting at $300 plus usage, with nothing between, means you should decide now whether you will outgrow Growth, because if you will, you are better off starting on a platform that scales gradually.
Where we write about Tidio Lyro
8 pieces on this site name it.
- Intercom raised its own resolution rate from 33% to 50% without resolving a single extra ticket.Every vendor publishes a resolution rate and no two of them measure the same thing. The silence window that turns a conversation into a resolution runs from three minutes to seventy-two hours, abandonment counts as success at some vendors and failure at others, and one platform bills for outcomes its own headline metric excludes.
- Meta started billing its own WhatsApp agent by the token on 1 August. Almost every explainer of it is wrong.Meta Business Agent is the first AI in this directory billed per token rather than per resolution or per seat. The rate is published and checkable, the vendor explainers describing it get the mechanism wrong, and there is a spend ceiling that does not exist unless you set it.
- Tidio remembers you for three hours. Fin remembers you for 180 days. Most publish nothing at all.A returning customer explaining their problem again is the fastest way to lose them, and every vendor says its agent remembers context. We read the documentation of ten platforms to find out what that actually means, and the published retention windows range from three hours to a hundred and eighty days.
- Everyone advertises a resolution rate. Almost nobody guarantees one.Five vendors attach a consequence to their own resolution rate. The exact wording of each, and the one that guarantees a rate but names no remedy.
- Three meters run at once — billable conversations, Lyro AI conversations and agents — and the one you hit first decides which alternative is actually cheaper.Growth is $49.17 and stops at 2,000 conversations. The next plan up starts at $300 plus usage. Where the cliff lands, and what to move to depending on which meter caught you.
- Two of four platforms escalate the moment somebody asks for a person. One requires you to build that path yourself, and its documentation does not say what happens if you never do.The consumer press covers the tricks for escaping a bot. Nobody covers the other side, where the escape hatch is a configuration decision somebody at your company made.
- Six searches a buyer would actually run. The people answering the questions turned out to be the people selling the answer.Six AI customer service buying searches, with every page-one result classified by who published it. Full result lists, method and screenshots.
- Fin now defines a resolution as no further help being requested. A customer who gives up and closes the tab has not requested further help.Abandonment is the most common way a support conversation ends. We read 14 platforms' published billing terms to find out who charges for it.

Frequently Asked
The questions people actually search for about Tidio Lyro.
How much does Lyro AI agent cost?
Free for 50 conversations a month, then from $24.17 on paid plans. The conversation allowance is capped separately from your Tidio seats.
Is Tidio good for a small business?
It is one of the better cheap options — fast to install, genuinely useful free tier, and Shopify and WordPress plugins. It cannot look up an order, which caps what it can resolve.
What is the Tidio pricing cliff?
The step from Growth to the tier above is steep: $49.17 to a Plus tier starting at $300 a month plus usage, with nothing in between. Model your conversation volume before growth forces the upgrade.
How much does Tidio cost?
Free for 50 conversations a month, then $24.17 Starter and $49.17 Growth. Plus starts at $300 a month plus usage and Premium is quoted. Visitor conversations and Lyro AI conversations are metered separately.
Is the free plan actually free?
Yes, covering up to 50 conversations per month rather than expiring after a trial period. Note that Starter's 50 Lyro AI conversations are a one-time allowance, not monthly.
How much can Lyro resolve?
Tidio states up to 67% of common customer questions. That is a vendor claim without a published measurement definition, and it sits mid-range against Ada's 83% and Intercom's reported 30 to 50%.
Will Tidio scale with my business?
Reviewers say not especially well for larger teams or complex workflows, and the gap between $49 and a tier starting at $300 plus usage makes growth expensive. If you expect to scale, start elsewhere.
