Siena AI Review (2026)

Positions itself on empathy and brand voice rather than resolution rate, which is either the point or a way of not competing on resolution rate.

What the score measures. Five things we can verify from published material: whether pricing is transparent, whether the product can act on your systems or only answer from documents, whether the vendor still owns its own roadmap, how much independent review evidence exists, and whether the bill stays predictable as volume grows. Weighted, then scored against an ideal platform that scores 5.

BEST FOR: BRANDS WHERE TONE MATTERS MORE THAN RESOLUTION SPEED · LAST UPDATED 2026-07-30

Siena AI in depth

Siena markets itself on empathy. Its material talks about brand voice, emotional intelligence and conversations customers do not resent, rather than deflection percentages.

For some brands that is exactly right. If your support voice is part of your product — beauty, apparel, anything where the writing carries the brand — a technically capable agent that sounds like a form letter is a downgrade, and Siena is built against that failure.

What it does

  • Autonomous resolution with configurable brand persona
  • Shopify and major e-commerce platform integrations
  • Multi-channel: chat, email, SMS, social
  • Sentiment-aware response shaping
  • Human handoff with context
  • Multilingual support
More detail on how it works

The scepticism worth holding is that empathy is the hardest claim in this category to verify. Resolution rate is checkable; tone is a matter of taste, and a vendor emphasising the unmeasurable thing may be doing so because the measurable comparison is less flattering. We have not tested either, so treat both the claim and the doubt as open.

Persona configuration

You define voice, vocabulary and boundaries in more detail than most competitors allow. For a brand with a real style guide this is genuinely useful, and it is the feature Siena is built around.

Sentiment-aware shaping

Responses adapt to how upset the customer appears. Sensible in principle. In practice, angry customers are where all support AI is weakest, and a softer tone does not fix a wrong answer.

Commerce actions

Siena integrates with Shopify and can act on orders. Not as deep as Yuma's Shopify-only work, but present rather than nominal.

Setting Siena AI up

Realistic time to a working deployment: Under a day on a supported platform. These are the standard steps for this category. We have not published a walkthrough specific to this tool yet.

  1. 01

    Install from the app store

Shopify, BigCommerce or WooCommerce app install with an OAuth grant. Minutes, and the reason this category deploys faster than any other.

  2. 02

    Confirm the order-data scope

Check the agent can read live order and fulfilment state, not just your shipping policy page. This is the whole value.

  3. 03

    Connect your channels

Chat widget, support inbox, Instagram and WhatsApp if you sell there.

  4. 04

    Set action permissions

Which of cancel, refund, reship and address-change the AI may execute alone. Set a value ceiling above which a human confirms.

  5. 05

    Write the exception rules

Late deliveries, partial refunds, repeat claimants. Automated refunds attract abuse, so define the edges before going live.

  6. 06

    Go live on order-status only

Your highest-volume, lowest-risk ticket type. Expand once you trust the escalation behaviour.

The step that takes longer than they imply. Policy definition. The integration is fast; deciding what the AI is allowed to refund without a human is the part that needs a real decision.

What the AI actually does

Every platform here says “AI agent”. It covers a bot that reads your help centre and a system that can refund a customer. This is which one you are buying.

Acts on your systems

How Siena sells it: "the AI CX operating system for consumer brands" — not one agent but a set of them, including a shopping agent that sells and a reviews agent, which is a wider remit than support.

  • Completes post-purchase work end to end: applies discount codes, issues refunds, updates addresses, generates return labels, sends replacements
  • Manages subscriptions directly — skip, pause and swap — which is the retention action most agents escalate
  • Separate agents for service, shopping, reviews and QA rather than one agent with modes, so the shopping one is measured on conversion
  • Copilot drafts on-brand replies and translations for humans; Collaborative AI Routing hands over with an explanation rather than a transcript
  • Named outcomes: Spanx reports Siena handling 50% of conversations at 90%+ CSAT with handle time halved; Everyday Dose reports over 70% of shopper enquiries automated

Who Should Use It

The second list is the more useful one.

Brands where voice is the product

Apparel, beauty, lifestyle. If your customers notice how you write, a generic agent costs you something a resolution-rate chart will not show.

Teams with a real style guide

Siena's persona configuration rewards having documented voice rules. Without them you are configuring a preference rather than a standard.

Multi-channel DTC

Chat, email, SMS and social from one configuration suits brands whose customers arrive from Instagram as often as from the site.

Who should look elsewhere. Teams optimising cost per ticket. If the goal is the cheapest acceptable resolution, Siena's differentiator is not one you will value, and cheaper published options exist. Also not for support where accuracy dominates tone — technical or billing-heavy queues need correctness first.

Strengths and Weaknesses

What Works

  • The most detailed brand-voice control in the category
  • Genuine multi-channel coverage
  • A clear point of view about what support AI gets wrong

What Does Not

  • The core brand-voice claim is unverifiable from outside
  • No published pricing
  • Commerce actions are shallower than the Shopify specialists
  • Smaller and younger than most alternatives here

Siena AI pricing

Siena does not publish pricing. Expect a demo and a volume-based quote.

Because the differentiator is qualitative, the evaluation should be too. Ask for output on your own past tickets during the trial and have whoever owns your brand voice read it — that is the only way to test the thing you would be paying for.

The full arithmetic

Then ask the standard questions: what triggers a billable event, and what the rate is at twice your volume.

Custom and private pricing

Siena AI does not publish a rate. You have to ask, which means a sales conversation before you can compare it against anything else on this site.

Ask two things on that call: what triggers a billable event, and what the rate is at twice your current volume.

Our Recommendation

Who we would tell to buy this, and who we would not.

Siena is a reasonable buy for a DTC brand where support writing is part of the brand and a form-letter reply would be a visible downgrade. The persona control is the most detailed in the category and the multi-channel coverage is real. But the differentiator is taste, which means you cannot evaluate it from a website or from us — the trial, read by the person who owns your voice, is the whole evaluation. If cost per resolution is what you actually optimise, the published-pricing end of the category is the better place to start.

Frequently Asked

The questions people actually search for about Siena AI.

How much does Siena AI cost?

Not published. Siena quotes on volume and channels, so a demo comes before a number.

What makes Siena different?

It competes on brand voice and empathy rather than resolution rate, with more detailed persona configuration than most competitors offer.

Does Siena work with Shopify?

Yes, including order actions, though not as deeply as Shopify-only specialists like Yuma.

Is Siena better than Gorgias?

Different priorities. Gorgias publishes pricing and has deeper Shopify integration; Siena offers finer control over tone. For most stores Gorgias is the more practical starting point.

Can Siena handle angry customers?

It shapes responses by sentiment, which helps. Angry customers remain the weakest case for all support AI, and softer phrasing does not compensate for a wrong answer.

Does Siena support multiple channels?

Chat, email, SMS and social from one configuration, which suits DTC brands whose customers arrive from Instagram as often as the website.

How do I evaluate Siena properly?

Run your own past tickets through the trial and have whoever owns your brand voice read the output. The differentiator is qualitative, so the evaluation has to be too.
