A contact centre for companies already standardised on Zoom, priced per seat and published — consolidation rather than capability.

What the score measures. Five things we can verify from published material: whether pricing is transparent, whether the product can act on your systems or only answer from documents, whether the vendor still owns its own roadmap, how much independent review evidence exists, and whether the bill stays predictable as volume grows. Weighted, then scored against an ideal platform that scores 5.

Zoom Contact Center in depth
Zoom Contact Center exists for a specific buyer: a company already standardised on Zoom for meetings and phone that would rather not add a separate contact centre vendor.
Its argument is consolidation, not capability. One vendor, one admin console, one bill, published per-seat pricing, and agents working in an interface they already know. Against NICE or Genesys it is less deep by a clear margin.
What it does
- Contact centre built on Zoom infrastructure
- Published per-seat pricing
- Video support alongside voice and chat
- AI companion features
- Unified with Zoom Phone and Meetings
- Omnichannel routing
More detail on how it works
Video support is a genuine differentiator, though a niche one. It matters for technical support, healthcare consultations and high-value services where seeing the customer or the problem changes the interaction.
Consolidation
The reason to buy. Zoom Phone, Meetings and Contact Center from one vendor with one console. Real value in reduced vendor management and admin overhead, which does not show up in a feature comparison.
Video support
Native video in a support interaction, which most contact centres treat as an afterthought. Niche, and genuinely useful for technical diagnosis and healthcare.
AI companion
Summarisation and assistance drawn from Zoom's wider AI work. Competent, and thinner than dedicated support AI.
Setting Zoom Contact Center up
Realistic time to a working deployment: Months. These are the standard steps for this category. We have not published a walkthrough specific to this tool yet.
- 01
Scoping and statement of work
Weeks with the vendor or a partner before anything is built. Implementation is usually a separate line item from licences.
- 02
Telephony and channel migration
Numbers, carriers, routing, recording and compliance retention. Infrastructure work with lead times.
- 03
Integrate CRM and back office
The bulk of the engineering. Agent desktop, screen pop, and whatever the AI needs to read.
- 04
Configure the AI layer
Increasingly bundled but usually a separate licence. Confirm which AI features your contract actually includes.
- 05
Train agents and supervisors
New desktop, new workflows, new reporting. Budget real hours, not a webinar.
- 06
Phased cutover
By queue or by region. Nobody moves a whole contact centre in one weekend twice.
The step that takes longer than they imply. Everything. Contact centre platforms are implementation projects with statements of work, not software you switch on.
What the AI actually does
Every platform here says “AI agent”. It covers a bot that reads your help centre and a system that can refund a customer. This is which one you are buying.
Zoom Virtual Agent, the AI inside the contact centre, does write to a system of record, but the documented writes are narrower than the marketing.
The product page says it processes returns and updates accounts.
The Salesforce integration documentation describes creating cases and creating contacts, and does not describe updating an existing case.
- The Salesforce integration reads accounts, contacts and leads by email, and creates a case, adds topics to it, and creates a contact where no matching email exists
- OAuth needs read, create and edit permissions on Cases, Contacts and Accounts, so what it may touch is set by the profile you connect rather than by a feature list
- Named connections beyond Salesforce: Zendesk, Microsoft Dynamics, Intercom, Kustomer, Genesys Cloud and Amazon Connect, plus native Zoom Contact Center and Zoom Phone
- The knowledge side is not live. A custom API knowledge base is a scheduled pipeline that pulls content from an external system and pushes it into Zoom's own store, which is not the same as querying your system during a conversation
- Self-service figures are published with the customer named: Cricut at a 50% containment rate, Vensure trending towards 75% from under 30%, and Zoom's own deployment at 97%
Who Should Use It
The second list is the more useful one.
Zoom-standardised companies
Where adding a contact centre from the same vendor avoids another supplier relationship.
Teams needing video support
Technical diagnosis, healthcare consultations, high-value services where seeing the problem helps.
Mid-market operations with straightforward routing
Where NICE-level depth would be wasted.
Who should look elsewhere. Large contact centres with complex routing and workforce management requirements — NICE, Genesys and Five9 all go considerably deeper. Also pointless if you are not a Zoom customer, since consolidation is the entire argument.
Strengths and Weaknesses
What Works
- Genuine consolidation value for Zoom customers.
What Does Not
- Considerably less capable than dedicated contact centre platforms.
- No reason to choose it if you are not already on Zoom.
Zoom Contact Center pricing
Zoom publishes per-seat contact centre pricing, which puts it among the more evaluable options in this bracket.
If you already run Zoom Phone, ask about bundled pricing across the estate — that is where the consolidation argument becomes a commercial one rather than an administrative one.
The full arithmetic
Against Five9 or Talkdesk, Zoom is generally cheaper and less capable. Against NICE or Genesys it is not really competing.
INTEGRATIONS
Our Recommendation
Who we would tell to buy this, and who we would not.
Zoom Contact Center is a consolidation play and should be judged as one. For a company already standardised on Zoom with straightforward routing needs, one vendor and one console has real value that a feature comparison will not show, and the pricing is published. Video support is a genuine if niche differentiator. What it is not is a competitor to NICE, Genesys or Five9 on capability — routing and workforce management are markedly thinner. And if you are not a Zoom customer, the entire argument for it disappears.

The questions people actually search for about Zoom Contact Center.
How much does Zoom Contact Center cost?
Per seat, published, which makes it one of the more evaluable options in the contact centre bracket.
Is Zoom Contact Center good?
For Zoom-standardised companies with straightforward routing, yes — consolidation and a familiar interface have real value. On capability it is well behind the dedicated platforms.
Does Zoom Contact Center support video?
Yes, natively, which is unusual and genuinely useful for technical diagnosis and healthcare consultations.
Is it better than Five9?
No on capability. Five9 is deeper on voice and workforce management. Zoom's advantage is consolidation if you already run Zoom Phone.
Do I need Zoom Phone to use it?
Not strictly, but the consolidation argument that justifies choosing it depends on already being a Zoom customer.
Does it have workforce management?
Thin compared with NICE, Genesys or Verint. Large operations will find it insufficient.
What are the main Zoom Contact Center alternatives?
Five9 or Talkdesk for more capability at published rates, Dialpad for a similar consolidation play on phone, NICE or Genesys at enterprise scale.
